Buying in bulk to save (save quality, save gas, save money)

I just wanted to share an idea that has been dawning on me these last few weeks regarding certain products we use all the time and consistently. I know we could save so much money from buying those staple items in bulk on the credit card and then budgeting them into our normal budget to pay it off each month (and im not talking Costco here…). You also can earn rewards this way. I particularly love Old Navy because they have clothes for everyone that are pretty good quality, they have shoes and bags and other things… with their credit card you earn points for every purchase you make. Also, they send you coupons all the time and you actually earn CASH rewards towards purchases in their store. They let you use up to 3 coupons together which makes for an amazing deal!

So, lets say I got a $10 reward from my points that month. And I got a 15% off coupon for shopping during a certain period. And then on Tuesdays you get an additional 10% off. So seriously I usually walk out paying only a few dollars out of pocket for my items! It is awesome.

Back to bulk idea:

There is a great website which has quality organic products that you can order in large quantities called Its free shipping on orders over $49 which is great, and they have  all sorts of sales and coupons and promotions for new members. This way you are stocked up on good stuff for a better price!

All you do then is figure out about how long each item will last you. Divide that cost by that many months, and each month set that money aside in savings to pay off the credit card at the end of the month. Voila! Less trips to the store, less gas money, less time is consumed, more money in your budget for whatever else…
