Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars (grain-free, milk-free, sugar-free)

Chocolate is always appreciated as a sweet staple, and these make a great protein morning bar for on the go times…or as an after school snack or afternoon boost for parents;)

Very simple, and quick to make, healthy and yummy they are sure to delight! They make you realize that grains are seldom necessary!!

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars (adapted from a recipe by: detoxinista.com)

Fills one 11×13 pan

Ingredients:

2 cups natural creamy peanut butter 

1 cup raw sugar (or other sweetener can be substituted)

2 eggs

1/2 teaspoon sea salt (*if using unsalted peanut butter)

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350F and grease an 11×13″ square pan with butter or coconut oil.

In a bowl, mix the peanut butter, sugar, egg, salt and baking soda until well combined, then fold in the chocolate chips.

Pour the batter into the greased pan, and use a spatula to smooth the top.

Bake at 350F for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is a light golden brown. 

Let cool, then cut into squares and serve!
